Kanchenjunga North & South Base camp Trek starts from Kathmandu where the travelers take the ride to Basantapur passing through the cities of Dharan, Dhankuta, and Hille. The travelers take the trek from Basantapur to Chauki which takes six hours where Chauki is a small village with few lodges and Nepali tea shops. The travelers carry on their trekking crossing through deep remote Himalayan places to Gupha Pokhari, Gurja Gaon, Dovan, Mitlung, Chhirwa passing through dense rhododendron forests, traditional villages along banks of Tamur Koshi river. From Chhirwa travelers pass through Sekathum, Amjilasa, Gyabla, Ghunsa and rest at Ghunsa for acclimatization. Gunsa is the highland village of Tibetan and Buddhist culture inhabited by people of Tibetan ethnicity. After getting more energetic from rest the travelers continue their travel from Ghunsa to Khambachen, Lhonak, Pangpema, finally to Kanchenjunga North Base Camp. During ascending from Mirgin Lo to Tseram the travelers will travel through nearly desert zone and stony trails. After spending some time in the south base camp of Kanchenjunga the travelers then travel from Oktang to Tseram, Yamphudin, Kkhebang, Tharpu, Gopetar and finally passing through from Phidim and Illam travelers reach Kathmandu.
